IPhone XR and iPhone 11 are two of the most sought-after phones today, especially with their prices seeing a dip recently. However, which one should you choose? Let’s take a gander. When it comes to smartphones, there are iPhones, and then there are all the other smartphone models.
IPhones truly capture the zeitgeist of the 21st century; perhaps, only Samsung can boast of evoking a similar veneration and adulation among the smartphone users. Then there is the audacious dream; the yearning and longing to own an iPhone is a sentiment all of us are familiar with.
When the iPhone 11 series models hit the stores, those who could afford iPhones went all out to purchase the latest models with great enthusiasm. The rest could only watch and wish that they too could purchase a new iPhone.
Apple has since reduced the price of the iPhone XR, which is now available for less than Rs. 50,000. Similarly, the iPhone 11, which is the base variant of the iPhone 11 series, saw its price come down late last year, and was at one point available for Rs. 58,000! Smartphone users who couldn’t spend around Rs. 1 lakh for an iPhone finally got the opportunity to lap up these models, and even today, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 models aren’t beyond the reach of iPhone fans.
With that serving as the basis for our discussion, let us compare both the iPhone models, and see which iPhone you should purchase, if you had the opportunity.
Processor
We start with the heart of any smartphone, which is its processor. This is also arguably the biggest difference between iPhone XR and iPhone 11, as it impacts the phone’s performance and functionality. IPhone XR, as it was released in 2018, comes with the Apple A12 Bionic chipset, while the iPhone 11 comes with the relatively newer and more powerful Apple A13 Bionic chipset.
Both are hexa-core processors, and Apple A-series Bionic chipsets are arguably the most powerful processors in the market. Therefore, you might not even notice the difference, but when it comes to accomplishing demanding tasks, the A13 Bionic chipset takes the cake.
Cameras
It is a well-known fact that Apple does not go all out with its camera resolution like every other brand, and relies on optimizing what it can pack, and extracting the most out of it. While both models come with a primary sensor at the back with 12MP resolution, iPhone 11 packs two cameras at the back, as opposed to iPhone XR’s single lens. The iPhone 11 model comes with an additional ultra-wide lens, which is also of 12MP resolution.
On the front, iPhone 11 houses another 12MP lens, while iPhone XR comes with a 7MP selfie camera.
Display
Both the models come with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD, with 79 percent screen-to-body ratio. Both the phones have identical displays, even when we talk about brightness (625 nits), and resolution (828 x 1792 pixels).
Features and other specs
IPhone 11 comes with a relatively higher battery capacity (Li-ion 3110 mAh), as compared to iPhone XR (Li-ion 2942 mAh). IPhone 11 also comes with greater RAM size (4GB), as compared to iPhone XR (3GB). When it comes to the cost, the iPhone XR price today is Rs. 49,999, while the iPhone 11 price for the base variant is Rs. 68,137. However, during festive seasons and mega sales days on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, you can purchase either model at significant discounts.
Verdict
The decision is relatively straightforward, and depends on your budget. If you can stretch your budget to Rs. 70,000, purchasing iPhone 11 is a wise choice. However, if your budget is Rs. 50,000, iPhone XR is an excellent model in its segment.
There is one other way you can purchase iPhone 11 without worrying about the cost. You can shop on the Bajaj Finserv EMI Store, and purchase iPhone 11 while availing exciting offers and discounts. You can also use the Bajaj Finserv EMI Network Card to purchase the device on easy EMIs.
