Platform trolley is a real staple in any warehouse. Their design allows employees to transport items that are much heavier than what they are carrying. Unload the delivery, load the lorries, move the box around do it all with a sack truck. When it comes to filling post vans, sack trucks are also very good at carrying sacks! When you choose your platform trolleys, ask these questions:

What is its load capacity?

Make sure the sack truck you choose can handle the load you are loading.

  • Is the toe plate big enough? The platform on which your box or other object sits should be large enough to support it properly.
  • What are the types of wheels? This is surprisingly easy to ignore, but if you are using a sack trolley on uneven terrain, need wheels that do not mark the warehouse floor, or any other specific requirements, check to see if the wheels are right.
  • Is it ergonomically designed? For example, good, comfortable handles will make it easier for workers to hang heavy boxes all day.
  • Does it have any security features? Many trolleys have a copy protector which is an added bonus and improves handling.
  • Does it need to be folded for transport or storage?

If you frequently use a sack truck or want to travel in a lorry for delivery on the other end, consider having flat or telescopic handles. Also consider its weight. A 250 kg capacity folding toe sack truck with solid tires is an excellent staple sack truck for everyday use in your warehouse. Alternatively, a 90kg capacity aluminium platform truck with a telescopic handle is excellent for packing neatly into a lorry to carry a light load.
