Robotic process automation tools are becoming popular in industries because of their efficiency and ability to work without getting tired. Industrial robots are used in industries to do different tasks. Robots can be classified according to their application, brand, type of movement and collaborative robots.

Redundant robots

These types of robots position their tools in a given position. They can accommodate different positions under a variety of postures. They can hold something and manage to move their arms in different directions.

Parallel or serial robots

Serial robots are common. They have a variety of linkages and joints. Parallel robots exist in different forms. They are made in a way that you can close the loops from the base, close the loops to the tool and close them back to the base. Such automation tools have many arms working together. The workspace of parallel industrial robots is typically smaller although they have a higher acceleration.

Collaborative robots

Industrial robots have advanced and nowadays robots can collaborate with humans and work as a team. These types of robots are designed to respect safety standards in an industry. They cannot hurt human workers. Traditional robots can hurt people and hence they have to be kept away from people for safety reasons. The advancement in technology has made it possible for humans and robots to work together and achieve goals. They can be programmed by their operator to do specific tasks.

The future robots

Robotic process automation tools are still being improved on. Currently, some companies have come up with intelligent robots. These types of robots have not been embraced by a lot of companies but they have a promising future. Intelligent robots can be able to learn, think and come up with wise decisions just like human beings. So far intelligent robots have been used in medicine and finance industries successfully.
