Atlantans may anticipate the typical warm-weather antics in the upcoming months, such as waiting in long lines at Six Flags looking for a pool nearby or visiting one of the top ice cream shops in the city, but that’s not all. A number of significant events will also be happening, including music festivals, pop culture conventions, an epic road race, and a fresh interactive pop-up experience. Here is our list of cool things to do in Atlanta today and the whole summer season.
Experience a higher level of drinking at one of the city’s best rooftop pubs
There will be many large-scale drinking events for you to attend over the duration of this summer, including the Atlanta Summer Beer Festival, the Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest, the PeachNik Mimosa Festival, and the 5th Atlanta Summer Wine FestivalHowever, one way to raise even your most basic drinking experiences is to visit one of Atlanta’s renowned rooftop bars.
To tackle food insecurity, join the largest team in Atlanta
The Falcons, Hawks, Braves, and Atlanta United are all outstanding in their own right, but this summer, you’ll get the chance to play for Atlanta’s top team and contribute to the fight against food hunger in the entire city. Six 90-minute sessions of meal packing will take place on July 16, 2022, as part of the Million Meal Pack, a one-day project sponsored by State Farm and the Atlanta Hawks.
Anyone aged five and older is welcome to join the team of volunteers to help make meals for local Atlantans in need. You are welcome to stay for a post-volunteer celebration with games, refreshments, music, and so on.
Attend the summertime music festivals in Atlanta
The summer festival season is when you can live events near me. Fortunately, local music lovers of all stripes won’t have to go far to attend some of the best events. The 45th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival is the first event on the schedule. It is one of the biggest free music events in the nation. Piedmont Park will host the three-day Memorial Day weekend festival, which will include performances by a variety of performers, including Rhonda Thomas, Kathleen Bertrand, Warren Wolf & The Pack, the Kenny Barron Quartet, and Julie Dexter, and Naia Izumi. On Saturday, May 28 at Lakewood Amphitheater, the R&B Only Fest, which is hosted by Miguel and Erykah Badu, will also take place over Memorial Day Weekend.
Become the weekly song bingo champion at Eventide Brewing
Eventide Brewing’s summer song bingo series is a prime example of one of the coolest ongoing events in the city that doesn’t necessarily take place on the weekend. Every Wednesday from now through July 27 at Eventide, from 7 to 9 p.m., will feature the eagerly awaited Song Bingo nights. Every week, there will be a different food vendor as well as a different theme, such as TV Theme Songs, Road Trip Songs, Broadway, and Breakup Songs. The players who successfully complete the mid-round challenge will receive a free pitcher of beer, and the overall bingo champions will receive $15 and exclusive bragging rights.
Don’t miss out on the opportunities to have fun in Atlanta!
